    Expenses in Salzburg

How much is a beer? What’s a kebab gonna cost me? Here’s what to expect when your wallet meets Salzburg.

Salzburg is many things: scenic, historic – and yeah, a little pricey. But you don’t have to break the bank to have a good time. With a little planning and some street sense, it’s totally possible to survive the weekend on a modest budget.

    Here’s what you can expect:

    • Beer at a bar: 4.50–5.50 EUR
    • Supermarket beer: around 1.50 EUR
    • Döner/kebab: 7–8 EUR
    • Lunch menus (Mittagsmenü): 8–14 EUR
    • Big dinner out: 18–28 EUR
    • A filled roll or sandwich from a bakery: around 3.50 EUR

Water is drinkable and available for free from fountains all around the city. We’ll mark a few on the map for you.

At HQ, we’ll offer basic food options (vegan-friendly), coffee and drinks at fair prices. Some checkpoints may also have snacks or drinks ready.

Pro tip: hit up Turkish bakeries and small supermarkets for late-night bites. Don’t forget your reusable bottle.

Ride fast, eat well, don’t get ripped off.

(And yeah – there will be beer.)
