Cycle messengers make an important contribution to CO2 -free logistics in everyday life. They cover thousands of kilometres in all weather conditions and thus contribute to the infrastructure in the most sustainable way.

This is why the European Cycle Messenger Championship
(short: ECMC) brings together cycle messengers from all over Europe every year. The best in the industry will be honoured in various competitions over four days. In addition, the ECMC is a meeting place for the messenger community and puts urban bike culture centre stage.
The ECMC takes place alongside national and other international competitions: e.g. there is there is the OeRBM (Austrian Cycle Messenger Championship), which the “Salzburger Fahrradkulturverein” voluntarily organized and hosted in Salzburg in 2023. Or the World Championships (CMWCs), which are also held annually. These are aimed at a young and urban audience and the event is staged in a prominent way.

The previous European Championships happened 2024 in Lausanne and 2023 in Budapest. The ECMC 2025 in Salzburg is the 29th edition of this event and has already been held twice in Austria (Graz, 1998 and Vienna, 2017).
